8-Time Pro Bowler and 3-Time All-Pro Officially Says Goodbye to the Saints, Shockingly Rents Luxurious $500,000 Apartment in Bloomfield Hills — Fans Speculate He Has Reached an Agreement With the Lions

Posted May 19, 2026

Bloomfield Hills, Michigan – Cameron Jordan, one of the most dominant and consistent edge rushers in NFL history with 8 Pro Bowl selections and 3 All-Pro honors, has officially parted ways with the New Orleans Saints after 15 seasons with the franchise.

The Saints decided not to offer him a new long-term contract, opening the door for Jordan to become a free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

Jordan’s next move immediately created massive buzz after reports surfaced that he rented a luxurious $500,000 apartment in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Fans quickly began speculating that he is preparing to join the Detroit Lions.

Jordan spent his entire NFL career with the Saints after being selected in the first round with the 24th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He became the cornerstone of the Saints defense for 15 seasons, served as a defensive captain nine different times, and remains the franchise’s all-time leader in sacks.

Jordan owns 8 Pro Bowl selections, the most ever by a defensive player in Saints history. He earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 2017 along with Second-Team All-Pro selections in 2018 and 2019. He was also named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

However, due to salary cap pressure and changes in organizational direction, the Saints ultimately decided not to continue their partnership with Jordan. That immediately made him one of the top veteran edge rushers available on the free agent market.

Shortly after becoming a free agent, Jordan drew major attention after renting a luxury apartment in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan — an affluent and prestigious suburb located just 30 minutes from the Lions’ headquarters and practice facility in Allen Park.

That decision instantly caused fans and NFL analysts to believe Jordan may have already reached an agreement with the Detroit Lions or could be close to signing with the team. Bloomfield Hills is widely known as one of the most popular residential areas for Lions players and executives due to its luxury homes, excellent security, and convenient location.

Jordan’s decision to settle there has only intensified speculation surrounding a possible move to Detroit, where he could reunite with former Saints coach Sean Payton’s rival system or help bolster the Lions’ already strong pass rush.

Although there has still been no official announcement regarding Jordan signing with Detroit, his free agent status combined with the decision to rent property in the Lions’ preferred area has convinced many people this could be his next destination.

With the Lions looking to add veteran leadership and depth to their defensive line as they aim for another deep playoff run, Jordan’s experience and locker room presence would be viewed as an extremely valuable addition.

No matter where he ultimately lands, Cameron Jordan’s legendary NFL career is clearly not over yet.

“They Don’t Allow Me to Get Injured Here” – Former Lions Star Feels Regret, Expresses Desire to Return to Detroit After Enduring "Hellish" Training Sessions with the Houston Texans
Houston, Texas — Just a few weeks after being traded to the Houston Texans, a former star of the Detroit Lions has publicly expressed deep regret and nostalgia for Detroit — the team that helped him become one of the most physical and reliable running backs in the league. That is David Montgomery, a veteran running back of the Lions, who was traded to the Houston Texans as soon as the 2026 offseason began. During a recent practice with the Texans, Montgomery suffered a recurrence of his ankle injury and had to leave the field midway through. According to internal sources, the reaction from the Texans coaching staff made him clearly feel the difference in the environment. “They don’t allow me to get injured here,” Montgomery said with emotion. “The training sessions in Houston are literally hell. The intensity is extremely high, with no mercy, no room for mistakes or patience. After just a few sessions, I already felt exhausted both physically and mentally.” The 29-year-old running back continued to share: “In Detroit, even when I got injured, they were always by my side like a real family. They trusted and supported my development. Here, I just arrived and already felt like a burden.” David Montgomery is one of the typical success stories of the Lions. Originally selected in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, he truly flourished after joining the Lions in 2023, becoming a cornerstone of their ground game and a key piece in their playoff runs in 2024 and 2025 with his powerful running style and receiving ability. Despite previously having injury issues (particularly with his ankle and lower body), Montgomery still received patience and strong support from the Lions coaching staff and became an important part of the offensive system alongside Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown. His departure from the Lions earlier this offseason was reportedly due to salary cap pressure and roster restructuring. However, the harsh training environment at the Texans — famous for its no-mercy, high-intensity philosophy — has quickly made Montgomery realize the value of the place he once belonged to. Lions fans have reacted strongly on social media after Montgomery’s comments spread. Many expressed sympathy and called for the team to bring him back to Ford Field. “David is not a piece of merchandise. He has poured sweat and blood for the Lions. Detroit is his real home,” a popular fan comment read. Currently, Montgomery is undergoing in-depth medical examinations. His future with the Texans has become highly uncertain as the Houston team is reportedly considering various options, including placing him on the injured reserve list or even trading him again. Although he affirms that he still wants to prove his worth, Montgomery does not hide his desire to return to Detroit. His story once again highlights the cultural differences between NFL teams and serves as a reminder that success in football is not only about talent, but also about the environment and respect given to the players. For the Lions, Montgomery’s public expression of his desire to return could open up an interesting scenario in the remainder of the 2026 offseason.
