Los Angeles, California — One of the most durable symbols of the Los Angeles Rams is officially entering a new chapter after closing the door on a memorable NFL career, but his love for Los Angeles and the Rams community remains unchanged.
After more than a decade battling on the front line for the Rams, veteran offensive tackle Rob Havenstein has officially retired and is preparing to begin a new journey as a high school football coach.
According to multiple sources, Havenstein has accepted a position as head coach at a high school in California, marking a complete transition into coaching and developing young players.

The news quickly moved the NFL community, especially Rams fans who have always viewed him as one of the final remaining leaders from the glorious Super Bowl era.
While speaking about his decision, Havenstein sent an emotional message to the city of Los Angeles and the Rams community.
“Los Angeles changed my life forever. This organization believed in me from the very first day and gave me memories that I will carry for the rest of my life. I only regret that I could not give the fans a few more healthy seasons. Rams Nation deserved everything I had in every single game and I will always carry this city in my heart.”
Those words quickly touched the hearts of thousands of Rams fans across social media.
Many people view Havenstein as one of the most underrated yet respected players of the Sean McVay era.
Selected by the Rams in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin, Havenstein quickly became an important part of the franchise’s transition from St. Louis to Los Angeles.
Throughout his career, he appeared in nearly 150 regular season games and became known for his toughness, consistency, and leadership inside the locker room.
Havenstein was also a key part of the offensive line that helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI.
For many years, he quietly protected the quarterback, opened lanes for the running game, and became the emotional backbone of the entire offense.
Teammates and coaches always highly respected his professionalism and sacrifice during some of the toughest periods the organization faced.
However, lingering injuries and the brutal physical demands of the NFL eventually pushed his body beyond its limits.
Sources close to the former Rams star said repeated treatments and recoveries led Havenstein to prioritize his long term health and family.
Now the former Rams standout hopes to pass down all of his experience and NFL lessons to the next generation of young players.
He is reportedly aiming to build a culture of discipline, responsibility, and unity in his role as a high school coach.
For many Rams fans, Havenstein perfectly represents the toughness and fighting spirit that helped revive football in Los Angeles.
His retirement also marks another emotional farewell to the generation that brought the Rams back to the top of the NFL.
Even after stepping away from the field, Rob Havenstein’s legacy in Los Angeles and within Rams Nation will never be forgotten.
Welcome to the next chapter, Coach Rob Havenstein. Rams Nation sincerely thanks you for everything you gave to the organization and the city of Los Angeles.
